“do I hear…” ?

Monday, October 30th, 2006

This fellow has compiled a list of Pitchfork.com’s highest rated tracks of 2005-2006 and compiled them in to a clever play list which can be found here.

Our man Scott of course is on the list with “Cossacks Are”. Interesting seeing the company he keeps; Califone, TV on the Radio, The New Pornographers, Bloc Party, Sleater-Kinney, LCD Soundsystem, and other assorted hipsters. Listen and learn, kids!

(Oh yes, and World Premiere tomorrow! Bloody hell, can’t believe it.)

I tip to…Brighton

Friday, October 13th, 2006

For any of you living in the Southeast of England, in and around the great city of Brighton, I’ve just learned that “Scott Walker: 30 Century Man” has been booked to screen as part of the Cinecity Film Festival at the Duke of York Picturehouse on Monday, November 27th at 6:30 pm. Since I’ll be staying on in the UK for a few months, I think I’ll pop down and introduce the pic along with my esteemed colleague Grant Gee, director of photography/editor of the film and Brighton resident.

Anyone have any memories to share of Scott’s solo performance at The Brighton Dome, 1968…?
