The Provincetown International Film Festival holds a special place in our hearts as it is where we were first introduced to the woman who would eventually come on board to finance the film and produce it with us - so it is with great pleasure that we bring it back completed! It’s a great regional festival at the very tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts (and is a mere hour away from where I grew up, so again, a very pleased to have it there.) So, friends in Boston, South Shore, Cape Cod, etc - please come check it out and make a weekend of it…

(Sadly, I won’t be able to attend the fest as I have been generously invited to attend the Sydney Film Fest - an opportunity I can’t pass up - but if you manage to make it to P-Town, say HI to my folks, I think they’ll be there to represent!)

Just FYI y’all…many of you in the UK probably saw an hour-long ‘version’ of SW30 last night, presented by the honorable Mr. Alan Yentob - just to clarify - it was a very much re-edited version, presented with a slightly different point-of-view and and with some material that is not actually in the film, and excluding some great stuff that is in the film - SO - while we are thrilled with the presentation of Scott’s story on the BBC, we urge you to continue to head to the cinemas to check it out on a BIG screen, played LOUDLY, in all its 95 min glory! Part of Scott’s motivation for being involved was that it was a cinematic endeavor, and we’d love for you to experience it as such.

In addition to a lot of new UK bookings, we can confirm that the film will screen at both the international film festivals of Seattle and Sydney.

Thanks to everyone who made our New York premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival such a great event, especially David Driver and the Loser’s Lounge Band who packed ‘em in at our pre-screening party at The Knitting Factory (and of course, thanks to Jameson’s for coming in to sponsor the event at the last minute. Were they aware that Scott’s fave tipple in the 60’s was whiskey and coke? Did it matter? They flowed liberally all night. Certainly helped when it came to the Q&A later…)

Amidst the chaos, I managed to catch a few great docs, including “Anita O’Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer” which was a true revelation, and the elegant “Black, White + Gray”, about art collector Sam Wagstaff & his relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe. Keep an eye out for these great films as they make their way to other film fests.
